...man, even as a kid I was calling bullshit when they finally resurrected him and they just found him floating in space all fine and dandy.

"I remember him getting his outsides burned off like THE TERMINATOR, what are you trying to pull here!"

Suddenly I'm reminded of this scene from Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, and can now imagine Sonic saying this to Eggman:

One thing I love about Kamen Rider is the versatility of phones. Phone that’s a spider webcam? Sure. Phone that turns into a bike? Absolutely.

But the best is phone that is also gun. Hell yeah. We love phone guns.

Hey "Send in the Clones", can I copy your homework?

Sure, just change it up a bit so it doesn't look obvious that you copied.

i already feel like Meta is a dead company walking, and this doesn't change that unless you believe that people will love slop. Oracle should not be funding this out of debt rather than free cash flow.

of the majors, I think Google and Microsoft are well-positioned to stop capex if the profits come in too low to justify the investment and then buy back investor loyalty with stock buybacks. NVIDIA is probably in for a big correction because they can't do this. in this world OpenAI is dead.

the way the money guys talked themselves into this is that there is always a customer of last resort for the compute being bought now: the companies' own other business lines.

at present, what is happening is that all of the capex out to 2027 is being done in 2025. the idea is that if there are first-mover profits on AI, you can buy them out of free cash flow right now and then pull back on capex if the market for AI is limited.

i genuinely do not see how exactly we are going to see all this AI/data center demand work out in the long run? like, thankfully most of investments are with cash not debt, but even then, what exactly is the case for AI investment here?

Hey, remember how I talk about hating Remakes being treated as replacements for what they're remaking? Guess how I feel about this.

Capcom should die. Give all their IPs to less stupid people.

I thought Fox skated past FCC laws because they technically weren’t a full network. The FCC’s definition of “network” stated that you’re only considered a network if you provide 15 hours or more of programming a week. Fox programmed less in the early days, so they were exempt from these restrictions

I know why power-scaling/death battles/“who would win” type arguments are mocked and for good reason. Usually, people argue about it online in a dull, obnoxious manner and often won’t engage with a work in any other way.

That said, I think they’re fun hypotheticals to wrestle with in good company.

This is a money laundering scheme isn't it?

Your average youtube video now is either a 3 second short you'd see on TikTok or a pretentious video essay that's 48 hours long.

Also my hottest take in all of existence is that I think Doug Walker and the Nostalgia Critic is okay. I think most people who hate that guy with a passion are kind of pretentious and poisoned by annoying YouTube video essay culture.

Paramount launched a lot of syndicated shows in 1987. Star Trek TNG, Friday the 13th, Geraldo, Marblehead Manor, the syndicated run of Webster

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Paramount launched a network in 1987 a la Fox with these shows instead of waiting until 1995 with UPN
