We still live in the dumbest timeline: my headphones has a security vuln and needs to be updated. A requirement for updates _to your headphones_ is being logged in. My password apparently no longer works, the password restet requires a security question like it's 2006 - that form is broken. Cool.

Of all the unimportant issues, what the fuck is up with mobile ads these days?
I just want to play some proper tetris with good touch controls, I would be willing to pay a one-time fee to do that ad free, but the official app only has 60-day ad-free passes. And every ad requires closing it 3 times??

So the show mac crashed completely during act 2 yesterday, so this was me 3 minutes before close in the only electronics store open on a Saturday evening with macs in stock, but "I'd like your 16 gigabyteiest mac please"

So I finally decided to try Kagi based on @quinnypig.com and other's recommendation. And what I've learned so far is that I am not the average 100-searches-per-month Googler. Without even adding it to all browsers yet, during a week where I've searched less than normal, I hit 100 searches in 4 days.

I've been running tailscale for years now, both personally and in some of the nonprofits I volunteer for, and it has allowed me to configure things securely and isolated without spending massive amounts of time setting up prerequisites.

I heard an interesting take on above/below the fold for websites today where my dad, who's a teacher, experience issues with their online teaching tool. Because as soon as it loads the kids immediately scroll down, and then don't find the assignment halfway down the page, it was right at the top 1/2

Apparently, upgrading your media server to something that supports hardware transcoding in any meaningful way gives you much more watchable video! Who could've thought!
