fun? fact: when talking about this with a friend, i assumed the convention of using RBC for Red Blue Cloud, and he used RBC for Rain Balloon Cloud, to much confusion.

these are small things in the moments that we share with people. in this case it's something that's not really my thing. but to him it's my thing. what's stayed with him is such a tiny fragment of who i am and what i care about. but it is still a fragment of who i am and what i care about

he thanked me. he associates learning version control with me. but it needn't have been me, i don't have any particularly special relationship to version control. anyone could've introduced him to it. i just happened to be there at the time

for example i introduced someone to version control, years ago. at first he saw it as unnecessary paperwork. but eventually he started working with it, using it as a tool, and then i guess something clicked for him and his world shifted, and he'll never go back
