thankfully not, since i was too lazy to do a clean install! i'd formatted a disk wrong because i had to enable CSM in order to boot from the usb stick i was using on my last install, which then autoformats your actual install disk as MBR instead of GPT. extremely intuitive thank you microsoft

i realise there's some security stuff tbc, but i just installed a patcher that restores the windows 10 taskbar and start menu, and it's entirely functional and even saved my old config. this could've just been a version of windows 10

this can be extremely misleading too, because i was getting these incompatibility notices solely because i had a disk formatted *slightly* wrong. how many less savvy users are gonna waste an entire working system just because of shit like this
