Hey guys! New on this platform. Hopefully better than X/Twitter or whatever it is going to be.

Still trying to plug away at BioCreeps. Please follow me for updates on it as well as any other projects!
Another day, another reason to gush about how GOOD Full Quiet is if you have the patience to unlock its mysteries.
As we get into the spoopy season this week for #RandomGameSaturday we have Full Quiet, a new (ish) horror sidescroller for the NES! The game has a large contiguous world, a day/night cycle (don't get caught out at night!) and does a lot with Morse code.
Full Quiet for NES. Pictured are the box, manual, limited edition silver cartridge, and a paper map of the cliffs area.

My local barcade is closing and I'm seriously bummed out. I was never quite old enough to be truly an arcade kid, so those cabinets being available to play, really scratched an itch.

Been procrastinating from #gamedev today... by doing some gamedev. A little #nes / #famicom sidescrolling prototype written in assembly

#nesdev
Plugging in a salt lamp, a full family prayer to remove all bad guys, a story about my bad dream with a man with a broom for a head, and picking up my one year old and pretending she's tooting on my boys.

Thats the ritual. I dont make the rules.

This is the first ive heard of hacking a VCR! Where can i find more info?!
So THATS why they called you the N64 Prophet!
We miss the 3 month long carefree summer vacations. We don't miss having to go to highschool.
It really does go beyond just playing the games. Having the authentic cartridges, blowing on the pins, hooking up via composite onto a CRT, it all adds up to a comfort feeling we *do* want to "go back" to in some sense.
The simplicity of a child playing Mario 64 and discovering it for the first time cannot be understated.

I enrich my own interest in the retro by other ways of discovery. Histories, prototypes, hidden gems, and especially homebrew.
As a father, I spend some time thinking about nostalgia as it relates to creating experiences for my kids. I think alot of it comes down to creating comfort spaces in which I can recreate aesthetics and feelings of my youth to try to replicate in my children.
Hung up on a relatively recent discussion on retro game nostalgia and wanted to share two of my cents.
Nowadays, we have robust emulation, flash carts, ODEs, online modes of old games, decomps, proto leaks, easy-to-find niche communities, and new similarly styled games. I do not want to "go back."
Is this the plot to Ferris Buehler
The sightjacking mechanic is incredible. Trying to deduce where your enemies are based on their point of view is awesome. And hearing their terrible sounds is creepy as hell.

I'm giving away 20 copies of Exo Attack for the Nintendo E-Reader.

Repost this post to be entered into the contest.
A picture of a Game Boy Advance with an e-Reader inserted into it. The game Exo Attack is playing on the Game Boy. Exo Attack cards are off to the right. The caption says "Nintendo E-Reader Game Giveaway!"

Men will literally insert the SBTALKER disk in drive A: and enter SBAITSO instead of going to therapy.
Bummer! Looks incredible. So much weight to everything.
Would love more info on this, if its for a game!
