If anyone's curious about fun games, btw, here are a couple of my favorites: Monster Panic and Adventure Zone. Epoch makes a lot of good stuff and it generally isn't nearly as expensive as G&W; Monster Panic is even somewhat reasonably priced at around $40! It's a lot of fun too!

So I put a rug down in my office the other day. I feel like it's weirdly actually helping keep it a few degrees cooler? Like with my media-pc-slash-space-heater it's regularly ~78 degrees fahrenheit in here, but right now it's sitting at ~75? Is that a thing rugs do?

Okay so before bed last night I opened this up to verify the below, and unfortunately it does look like the damage is with the lcd screen itself, not the backdrops :( That's a much tougher fix. I've got others though, will update later!
So in addition to that little Bomberman game from the other day, another thing I came across was this Snoopy Tennis Game & Watch in... rather unfortunate condition. The good news is that these *can* be fixed, but you need to source replacement backdrops. I happen to have one, so I'll be fixing it!

I definitely want to go through all of my LCD games but uh, I legitimately do not know how to store/display them other than tetrising them into fabric cubes and bankers boxes. There has to be *some* way to sort them for easy cataloging and retrieval?

I've been thinking about this and as much as I appreciate the compliment from @desragnell.bsky.social (and I really do!) I want to point out that I have skill, *not* talent. None of what I do came easily, and the only reason I'm so good is because I practiced and stuck with it.

Spent the evening cleaning up and fixing this guy! Flowed some new solder into the old joints, wiped down the button contacts, and scrubbed away a whole bunch of battery corrosion. Also pulled a piece of scotch tape off the pcb?

Picked up a 2-blade window fan from goodwill for $2 a few weeks back. It's supposed to have intake, exhaust, and exchange settings, but it only seems to be able to do exchange - left blade is always exhaust, right is always intake. Controls are push-button digital. Wondering how hard it'd be to fix.

It occurs to me that many people don't know about the GameFan coffee incident.
In 1993, GameFan published a manic 6-page review of the game Cybermorph that was written while tripping on LSD that somebody put in the office coffee pot
