this level of authoritarianism has been building up since the end of ww2 and began regaining it's pre-civil rights foothold under reagan...

yall's grandchildren will need to inherit this struggle for yall to succeed.
resistance isnt something that changes a regime in a single voting cycle.
post #parkrun (plus a few more miles) breakfast is gochujang tofu and mushrooms with fresh mango and sticky rice, obviously 🍜

it is ✨Shameless Self Promotion Saturday✨ yet again

you're probably pretty busy today. stay safe out there. we need you to survive.

but, we've got a lot of cool stuff, if you're into that sort of thing.

supporting each other is the only way we make it through this thing.
water? i don’t touch the stuff.
i’m not like afraid of fire or water, but both are terrifying in similar ways to me. sneaker wave sounds downright mean!

bro why is a sovereign nation crashing out on here
i don’t want to wait that long! why can’t they do anything right
imo it’s pretty annoying the one thing these fascists can’t break is the internet
oh! yeah i did know about this! fuckin lovely. talked about it with a coworker who began a little radicalization (good) bc of seeing it.
oh? i haven’t heard about it—i keep hoping running will lead the way but i think that’s one of my dumber hopes
i wasn’t going to pick on them for their geographic vantage point but absolutely haha

your other point about the specialized violence of american police and martial forces is spot on.
it's unremarkable at this point, but i'm still awed by the fact that the only real purity tests are the ones demanded by the people exclaimaing against "having expectations of politicians"
if cops can arrest a drunk ICE agent, they can arrest any one of us!
i figured the first leg of the snowpiercer train would have been built a little further south but okay!
one of the more difficult challenges we have right now is really understanding how to scale the disaster we are experiencing--it's not everywhere all at once in the same intensities, but it's really hard to perceive and respond at the right levels
this is also pretty speculative on my part, but i'm far more concerned about my work or some social media company selling me out than i am the local cops screenshotting my fb posts or taking a picture of me at a protest.

but also! my local is much different from other people, say in los angeles
also, not to sound like a happy-go-lucky guy, but part of a protest for me is to also embody and (literally) demonstrate the types of social relations that you actually want, and i certainly don't want to become some military guy talking like this, sorry
i agree with this as a basic thing, but even then, i think it's mostly effective as a way to get people thinking about surveillance in the right ways, weaning them off of the very common "if you're not doing anything wrong, what's the issue" stance
certainly is in my city, where the no kings shit is organized by incredibly pro-police democrats lol. and it’s an issue that we talk about a lot with them!
