Democrats excoriating Dems who voted for a “deal” are the problem with the party. Not those who voted for their constituents to be paid. REPUBLICANS are keeping healthcare from Americans. They NEVER would have caved because they DONT CARE if Americans suffer! People need paychecks and food, too.

It’s easy for people still getting paychecks to call Dems who voted for a “deal” sell-outs. People can’t eat. They will lose their homes. Republicans do not care. You can’t negotiate with people who don’t care. There was no choice. People need their paychecks and food. GOP would have let us starve.

I do not think he should be mayor, but this is so much healthier of an approach to take toward a democratic election than anything we are hearing from Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo is going to leave NYC the moment he loses. Sliwa seems to truly want to stay in this great city.

Maaaaan, this. So much this. Every time there's any kind of actual in-depth survey we find that the American people are *abysmally* ignorant about even the most basic political facts, but the pundit class just immediately forgets & proceeds with political analysis based on subtle policy differences.
Feels like so many of our convos are revolving about how voters respond to what politicians are doing, or what parties’ positions on issues are, without much actual empirical sense of what they actually know about those topics.

I have an acquaintance who was looking at job applications to work in military healthcare and they have this among other short answer essay questions in the application. This seems insane, yeah? For comparison, my husband applied to work at the VA a few years ago and they had nothing like this then.
