By the second or third series, London Weekend and Southern wouldn't show it in the 9.45 Saturday slot, thinking they could do better, and bumping the Wheeltappers to around midnight on Saturday.

I think the change in format from one 45 minute show with different acts to one half hour show with one act one was maybe a hint the show was on it's way out.

By then it had become uncoupled from its Saturday night slot and started drifting through the schedules, usually on Thursdays or Fridays.

Crossroads wasn't THAT bad for little mistakes, Acorn Antiques pays a bigger debt of gratitude to Take The High Road, now THAT was filled with flubbed lines, long pauses and wobbly sets. As you know, Scottish definitely didn't have the money ATV had.
