There has been a church on this site for a thousand years. The current building was built between 800

The building is almost entirely surrounded by snowdrops at this time of year

Excited to be planting some more roses, expanding one of our rose beds. We got bare-root ‘Lady of Shalott’ and ‘Vanessa Bell’ from David Austin Roses.

So after a quick dunk in some Mycorrhizal fungi dip, they went straight into the ground.

Persica roses are a favourite and I am looking forward to seeing them flower again, particularly in the Trial Garden at Wisley.
More rain today after brilliant sunshine yesterday but I am meeting friends for lunch. One is a teacher who has agreed to take decluttered craft items.

Brexit has made Britain much poorer.

So it's absolutely infuriating that Labour's response is so small.

We're going to rejoin one day. We might as well admit that and start thinking about what that path looks like - and how we can go as fast as possible to recovering from this injury.
New data shows #Brexit has lowered UK GDP by 6-8% in 10 years. Investment down 18%, employment down 4%.

It's even worse than economists had predicted pre-referendum, because they thought there would be a bounce-back long term.

You will have spotted blooms of crocuses appearing across the parks 💛

They actually close their petals at night and during cloudy weather to protect their pollen—a phenomenon known as nyctinasty 💜

Despite the recent wet weather the appearance of crocuses does give you that spring feeling 🙌

Chitting nicely 😊 this year Sarpo Axona (maincrop, blight resistant), Sagitta (2nd early) and Home Guard (1st early). You don't have to chit - makes no difference to growth rates except for new #potatoes, & even then not much. But it's useful for keeping tubers healthy till sowing time #gardening 🌱
