Brexit has made Britain much poorer.

So it's absolutely infuriating that Labour's response is so small.

We're going to rejoin one day. We might as well admit that and start thinking about what that path looks like - and how we can go as fast as possible to recovering from this injury.
New data shows #Brexit has lowered UK GDP by 6-8% in 10 years. Investment down 18%, employment down 4%.

It's even worse than economists had predicted pre-referendum, because they thought there would be a bounce-back long term.

"Economists were roughly right on the magnitude of the impact, but...
Brexit’s slow‑burn hit to the UK economy

You will have spotted blooms of crocuses appearing across the parks 💛

They actually close their petals at night and during cloudy weather to protect their pollen—a phenomenon known as nyctinasty 💜

Despite the recent wet weather the appearance of crocuses does give you that spring feeling 🙌

Chitting nicely 😊 this year Sarpo Axona (maincrop, blight resistant), Sagitta (2nd early) and Home Guard (1st early). You don't have to chit - makes no difference to growth rates except for new #potatoes, & even then not much. But it's useful for keeping tubers healthy till sowing time #gardening 🌱

Plus gardeners, allotments, canal & railway restoration volunteers. Those that run food, toy & clothes banks. Folks that clean up sidewalks, rivers & host repair shops. The cheerful souls who talk to everyone on their dog walk, the neighbours who fill in forms, take in parcels & mind kids A Better 🇬🇧
We hear way too much about angry Britain, blue-red Britain. What about the Britain of Save the Children, Oxfam, the RSPCA, the RNLI, popular environmentalism, the Britain of London's absolute triumph since its 80s nadir, its civic universities, the Britain of volunteering, giving, hoping?

It’s not raining, the sun is shining and life would be perfect if I didn’t have a visit to the dentist to look forward to. I will combine it with a visit to my local Garden Centre to choose a couple of new Dahlias for this year.
