A super article. Winter really does provide such a show of wonderful structure and, as light lowers, there is an almost ethereal beauty that's just too good to miss.

I harvested some Oca because the frost last week had turned the foliage to mush.
It’s nice to eat and looks stunning, but the yield isn’t great, these were from one plant.
I’ve heard the tubers may carry on growing for a couple of weeks after the foliage dies off, I hope that’s true.

Grasses are definitely an essential part of my garden and really make an impact at this time of year. This grass is massive, I really want to divide it but I will need a lot of strong helpers and a saw! 🌱

The stunning goldcrest is so tiny it weighs just five grams – about the same as a 20p coin!

It may be the UK’s smallest bird, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in high energy. Goldcrests flit through tree branches, rarely staying still for more than a second.

Out with the team today doing our main rose pruning session. We’ve moved to a single prune in autumn, as the warm winters allow the roses to start growing as soon as it warms up in early spring.
