Now 90% #Bloomscrolling . I grow plants of all kinds indoors and out and take pics of them wherever I find them*, always my own pic, usually but not always my own garden. Socialist. Skint. North West England. *my mandate also includes weird bugs.

It was a ridiculously beautiful autumn day in Oslo yesterday. I went to a lovely sauna by the river and walked back through Vålerenga park. The light of the sunset took it to another level....

Monterey Cypress
SF Botanical Garden
2023
Monterey cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa) is endemic to two groves on California's central coast, where it thrives in windy, humid conditions. This one stands more than 100 ft tall.

I got this mystery succulent from my husband’s late grandmother several years ago, and it is putting on ENORMOUS buds for the first time. The internet tells me it is a carrion plant, and it will smell like rotting flesh when it blooms. (Maybe in time for Halloween?!?) 😳 #plantsky
Several potted plants on a cluttered porch table. One, a succulent with clusters of long, thin, spineless fingers, has sprouted bulbous buds. I believe it may be a stapelia gigantea, aka carrion plant, aka Zulu starfish plant. Excited to see it bloom for the first time!

My native asters are about tapped out but the zinnias are still going strong and the neighbors appreciate the backup options. Need to explore more fall blooming natives next year. 🌱

Good Afternoon,Bluesky fam!
Check out this Stunning Cosmos flower that I saw a Few days ago while Wondering Around My neighbourhood,
Captured on a Canon EOS R50

The picture shows two pink cosmos flowers with yellow centers, growing on slender green stems. The flowers have delicate, layered petals that radiate outward. One flower appears slightly damaged or wilted, with some petals bent or missing. The background is a dark, blurred green, likely indicating foliage, which contrasts with the bright colors of the flowers. The lighting suggests it was taken during the day, with soft sunlight illuminating the petals.
