The stump of a tree that has been cut down, an upper part of the remaining trunk has been carved into the likeness of an owl, perched and surveying its territory. The tree trunk itself is covered in a mass of bracket fungus, probably turkey tail fungus. The sky is an ominous grey colour reflected in the leaden waters of a lake in the distance.

A ladybird, on that same patch of flowering English ivy (hedera helix) I spotted bees and wasps on last week, possibly the last live bug I'll spot this year as the hard frosts have now arrived.
