I just learned that Mark Hoppus wrote this song in one fucking day. WHAT THE FUCK!?
I randomly listened to Enema of the State two weeks ago and it's been in my heavy rotation since then. It's basically perfect and IMO it's blink's best (and last truly good) album.

Favorite track? It's easily, "Going Away to College"

Also, most nice modern washers/dryers - even dumb ones like my last one - use sensors to determine cleanliness / dryness and often adjust the remaining time mid-cycle, and a manual timer on your phone can’t account for that.
I used to do that with my old washer. But I also appreciate that it sends a second alert 30min after the first one which is great for when I inevitably ignore the first one or get distracted by something else (thanks, ADHD!)
If there were, they'd be MORE expensive because the "smart" TVs are somewhat subsidized by the ads that appear in their user interfaces.

The best solution is to buy a smart TV, never connect it to your network, and do all your streaming via an AppleTV or similar external streaming box.
There's only one thing I ever really want a "smart" appliance to do, and that's to simply to push an alert to my phone when it's cycle is done. And that's just because it's not possible to hear the end of cycle chime from everywhere in my house.
But if it's just a bigger, more powerful Xbox the answer is clearly no. They tried that this time and failed once again, because the one thing they've been entirely unable to get right post-360 is actually making good first party exclusives, and doing so consistently.
I might if it's actually a streamlined entry point into PC gaming, but without all the hassle of hardware compatibility issues, drivers, endless tweaking of settings, etc.

Basically, I think it's going to be less of a traditional console and more of a "SteamBox" / ROG Ally Box connected to a TV.

Save the Games returns next year to The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY! More info to come, but save the date! July 29 and 30, 2026!
So if Yotei's first week sales figures are roughly the same as Tsushima's, but the PS5's install base is smaller than PS4's at that point-in-time, there's a strong argument that Yotei is actually outperforming Tsushima because a larger proportion of the install base bought it.
It's spaghetti because it's just too darn boring. Most other "long noodle" shapes are superior.
a second day of the same discourse? no. no thank you.

instead I need you to name your least favorite pasta shape
With how many singles came from this album, I'm kinda surprised this track wasn't one of them. I guess maybe it was a bit to proto-emo for that in 1999, especially given that the label was clearly pitching them as a bunch of immature goofballs.

Also, I still know all the words to "The Party Song"

Basically, it’ll be a set-top ROG Xbox Ally X.

Also, agreed that it’ll be at least $999. The handheld ROG Xbox Ally X is already at that price.
I don’t think it’ll be a console as we currently view them. More like a “SteamBox” type PC designed to be used with a TV. Something that makes actual PC gaming hassle-free in the way console gaming is.
Yup and the only potential competitor, Valve, seems to be taking their time in getting a SteamBox into the market, so MS can potentially snag first mover advantage.
Balan Wonderworld? I feel so bad for the person who bought that.
That’s my thought too. Their only hope left for success is a SteamBox type device that “makes PC gaming a hassle free experience” like the SteamDeck and ROG Ally X do, for a premium price.
I've been on vacation for the last week so I've just now finally watched the first two episodes of The Chair Company from Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin.

It's incredible. I can't believe how much I love it. The blend of the conspiracy story arc with little ITYSL-style bits somehow works perfectly.

And if we compare games to rides, you can't ride Space Mountain anywhere other than Disney's parks, but you can play Xbox games on their competitor's platforms.
It reminds me of Disney's theme park strategy. They used to focus on growing via attendance. Now they focus on squeezing more out of high-income guests.

But the big difference is that Disney is the leader in the theme park market, and Xbox is in last place in their market.
They're in a distant last place with the most expensive console. And their solution to this problem is to come out with an even more expensive console? And all of its games will release on PC and (eventually) PlayStation and/or Switch 2...
The next Xbox will be high-end and curated, teases Xbox president Sarah Bond:

"The next-gen console will be a very premium and high-end curated experience. You're starting to see some of the thinking we have in this handheld, but I don't want to give it all away"

Do they even make a profit on these dev kits? Because it seems to me like they should be giving them away or at the very least selling them at cost.
I’m in full “fuck everyone’s season” mode this year. Both my teams are NOT GOOD.
Not a full pavilion, I just want an awesome next gen E-Ticket Doctor Who attraction at the UK pavilion with a TARDIS that somehow feels bigger on the inside.
It’s the most Miami thing ever to lose the game after the FSU game. Not even a bye could save them from it. It is their DESTINY.
