One very sad lesson of the Tr*mp era: a large majority of elected officials -- of both parties -- seem to care more about keeping their jobs than upholding the principles they espouse.

...John Kerry, proving again that when cowardice meets politics it always tries to destroy the perception of integrity rather than accept responsibility.

In this case, there's no daylight between satire and fact.
American public opinion is largely generated by foreigners who make money by lying to Americans over unregulated social media. Out of respect to those entrepreneurial foreigners, we will continue to treat their commodified fictions as one side of a reasoned American debate.

Dress for the TSA pat down you want, not the TSA pat down you have.
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

Except, of course, it’s *not* all he can say.

Cassidy could concede publicly that confirming Kennedy was a tragic mistake. He could call for RFK Jr's resignation. He could schedule hearings, haul the secretary to Capitol Hill, and demand the CDC’s public resources reflect the scientific cannon.
TAPPER: You were the deciding vote that allowed RFK Jr to ascend to the role of Health Secretary. Did you give him too much credit?

CASSIDY: The fact is the scientific community agrees that vaccines are safe. That's all I can say.

AOC to @pabloreports.bsky.social : A swastika is one of the clearest symbols of hatred in all of humanity… to remove that designation… indicates a possible collaboration with those very elements, which I think is genuinely frightening to any American.

Today, we remember and honor our trans siblings lost to violence.

We lift up their legacies by continuing the work to stem the tides of hatred, and create a world in which all trans people can survive and thrive.

All but the most rabid MAGA players understand that there is no real evidence that Comey lied to Congress. Now the case may be tossed on procedural grounds, which would be just.

I'd rather see the charges dismissed over their lack of merit, or vindictive prosecution, or the DOJ lose in open court.

Jaw. Dropped. Literally.
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

What an awful thought. Because it's almost certainly true.
In the last 48 hours as you’ve watched the way that Donald Trump has spoken to women on camera for the world to see publicly, you can only imagine the way that he spoke to the victims behind closed doors

Since January, Trump's Treasury has quietly gutted enforcement of the corporate alternative minimum tax — a huge boon for big business and wealthy investors.

Meanwhile, he's led an all-out assault on Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs that help the poor.
