Secret Santa party today, giving something to someone whose favorite game is Final Fantasy X, and when I say I'm cooking I 100% mean it.

Larian and Sandfall owning up to using AI helped clear up my backlog, that's the silver lining I choose to focus on.

Tired of the take that anti-AI stances are performative because that's a malicious form of apathy which erodes the point of the stance. AI use is genuinely damaging our planet.

Legendary game developers having trouble with funding. Ron Gilbert not being able to get a good publishing deal for an RPG he wanted to make. Keita Takahashi having to move back to Japan after To a T doesn't sell well.

Somebody needs to bankroll these people to make games for the world.

If you grew up with the Colin McRae and Sega Rally games, I can't recommend Old School Rally enough. Simple, fun, pick and play goodness.

Having a lovely conversation with a retro game seller in Japan about the SEGA Saturn I'm planning on buying... it's the little things.

What a magical system, too. Despite being born after the Saturn launched, I look back at that generation of early 3D games with a specific sense of wonderment.

E33 and Arc Raiders winning big at The Game Awards proves most people are okay with AI in very specific cases. We need to avoid normalizing AI.

Maybe I'm biased, but as someone who graduated into the worst job market for new grads thanks to AI, we need to actively reject AI in all media.
"we USE ai, but our game wont CONTAIN it" is a clarification that no one has ever cared about & now CEOs are using it as a wedge to get their foot in the door as a part of a long term plan into normalizing AI, just like how 'it's just placeholder' was used with E33. dont cede even an inch of ground

“try water fox or ice weasel” try chill penguin. install flame mammoth. you just download bubble crab. literally just use boomer kuwanger. sting chameleon has a search bar, use it to find toxic seahorse.
I asked what I should use instead of firefox and someone said “floorp” and I legitimately thought it was a bit for like five minutes. tech has gone beyond making the torment nexus real to making poob real.

The budget for Avatar: Fire and Ash (pre marketing) matches The Way of Water's estimations which means my review on the true cost of these movies still rings true.

For context: 24 FPS scenes in Avatar 2 & 3 were $32,520.24 a second to make, while 48 FPS scenes were $65,020.48 a second.

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a game I can't praise enough that deserves far more recognition.

Stealth games, specifically isometric stealth games feel like a lost art. On top of that, very few stealth games have great stories with an enthralling setting.

Said not to expect anything for at least a year, but it's exciting news nonetheless!

Pretty depressing when I read that the Silksong devs didn't even go to The Game Awards because they knew Expedition 33 would win everything. Said there was no point.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for Expedition 33 and their team. Game development is tough, and they seem like a good group.
