Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

I encourage all cinemaphiles to read this thread.
When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

There is a middle ground when it comes to generative AI & it's: Fuck AI because it steals from creatives. End. Of. Story.
"Surely there's a middle ground here?" The CEO of Helldivers 2 studio Arrowhead says people "jump to extreme takes" when debating generative AI, and that there needs to be more nuance in the discussion.

I love all of them so
This is the progression of every T. Kingfisher horror novel I’ve read:

1. Delightful spooky vibes

2. Oh no what the fuck

3. OH NO WHAT THE FUCK

4. THANKS I HATE IT

5. *incoherent internal screaming*

6. Are we safe now?

7. HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK
