I'm developing a kind of cosmopolitan-chauvinism, I guess you could call it anti-feudalism, as a through line in my politics. The peasant-brained and the local landed gentry are the enemy. Sort of funny that this could describe being either rabidly capitalist or communist.

Alternative: broaden the sidewalks to 10 feet
I came across *the* example I have been hammering with these food delivery robots.

A man with a mobility aid is forced to step aside because there is not room for him because the robot will not make room for a person (esp. those with a mobility aid who need addditional room)

Folks might not know a lot of people are getting *very* upset that the materials they request are not available in the libraries/archives they're requesting from.

We're getting lots here at the Library of Virginia: requests of documents likely surfaced by large language models that *do not exist*.

I adore Elenar Roosevelt because she was my first biography and because she was the consience of the nation.
Eleanor Roosevelt's role in the country's politics during her tenure as first lady is quite underestimated in its influence. She was both astute and morally clear-eyed. @josephhillyard.bsky.social tells the story www.liberalcurrents.com/no-ordinary-...

Mass deportations will jack up the prices of all new construction and leave you slowly rotting as your 1960's house decays around you as Mexico rebuilds with cheap labor
Anyone who tells you that mass deportations are a solution to the housing crisis is lying to you.

I’ve been writing about kei cars and minicars for years, and I’d be thrilled to see them legalized in the US. But I suspect this story/White House announcement is less than meets the eye.

Legalizing minicars is a heavy regulatory/political lift, not a “flip the switch” kind of change.

Quick 🧵
Trump Wants Asia’s ‘Cute’ Kei Cars to be Made and Sold in US
President Donald Trump, apparently enamored by the pint-size kei cars he saw during his recent trip to Japan, has paved the way for them to be made and sold in the US, despite concerns they’re too sma...

Accurate framing: Anti-vax conspiracy theorists appointed to ACIP by Robert Kennedy Jr., who made a fortune as an anti-vax profiteer, voted to expose babies to a preventable, incurable, deadly illness.
