Yeah sailor moon was in that same boat for the longest time until they finally updated the Kodonsha release as the first round was roooough and tokyopop, or chixx comixx as it was published at the time, was... well a tokyopop translation

It really irks me whenever I see people in the industry treat fan translators as evil, mustache twirling thieves, when most are just passionate fans of the medium wanting to share it with people who don't know the language.
We can have conversations about preservation without mud flinging :/
