OMG, look at this amazing feature! The battle cutscene view accurately reflects the position and direction of the other characters on the field, from the attacker's POV! :O
A screenshot from Record of Lodoss War (Mega CD). This is a top-down view of a cave. One goblin is attacking the hero, Pahn. Etoh stands a little further away. Pahn is much closer to the screen, matching his position on the overhead map. As before, Etoh is further away.

Thank you for articulating that better than I've been able to! I try, but I always end up yelling at the sky instead. D:

Ok, fine! FINE! I’ll try something a little more straightforward instead, like this Record of Lodoss War Mega CD RPG…

Last time I checked Mitsuda's contribution to the soundtrack, which IIRC is about a third of the game's music, is available on iTunes.

(The second is "Go to [place] and complete a request for [guy in town]". Follow a FAQ. Check other FAQs. Initiate quest as I should. Absolutely nothing where it's supposed to be)

(I know with older RPGs in other languages it's easy to claim something's a bug when in fact it's user error. In this case it went "I need to grab my gear">grabs gear>absolutely nothing happens>restarts the entire game>grabs gear>gear shows up, can leave)

So! I spent a couple of hours today playing the game, reading FAQs, trying to work out why I couldn't progress... turns out I'd hit a game-breaking bug. Hey, it happens! So I started fresh, which fixed the bug and then... I appear to have run into another. I think I might have to call this off D:
A screenshot from The Seventh Seal (PC). This is a map screen, rendered in an old-timey hand drawn way. An elaborate border frames the image, a large and not very useful compass sits in the top-right corner, and a large ship sails decoratively on a timeworn painted sea. A screenshot from The Seventh Seal (PC). A battle scene. Two heroes are being battered by flying monsters. Battles use a sort of ATB-style system, featuring combos. wrote up a bit of info on a less common US revision of Micro Machines for the NES, featuring a pretty nasty bug, discovered just a little too late and then worked around by using a PLD to patch a single *bit*. this is what day one patches looked like in 1991!

"Ooh, this looks interesting!"
>OK so we used AI but only like a tiny bit for concept art and portraits and monsters and basic foundational stuff that doesn't matter and then we changed the AI stuff a bit after so it's OK and kinda not AI now.

*banished forever to the ignore list*

Still looking for someone, haven't found a single person so far (that I can contact). I have a 46-episode script that I need translated. This would be a paid job!

Completely unrelated to my 2am doomposting but does anyone know an English to Japanese translator, ideally with experience in screenplays?

The ship really is the star! I still can't quite believe they actually managed to pull this off :O
