ICE hasn't stopped brutalizing people or shredding the Constitution, it's just that corporate media turned the camera as the call for action got too loud and the Democrats stepped in and made sure the issue got changed.

Does anyone know of a good training that teaches activists how to think through threat assessment? Lists of potential strategies for protest security aren’t terribly useful if you don’t know how and when to use the strategies. Are there trainings for when and how to use them?

Yea some of mine were here before it was country. Some were here before the explorers, even. I think one branch was escaping Pogroms. Some were minor nobility, second sons who were sent away to seek fortune. Some were slave traders. Some were spies. Some just…appeared one day in the records.

This is why we had Jim Crow instead of truth and reconciliation after slavery ended. People are so quick to absolve anyone who pays lip service to changing their mind about human rights violations instead of letting them live with the social consequences of their words
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?
