I need y'all to understand this in the coming days if what I'm hearing is true.

Philly is not simply an angry city. Philly is a city that *takes 0 shit from others*. We will close ranks around our own and protect them against outsiders. We are kind.

But we sure as fuck ain't nice.

So I’ve taken Disapproving Rabbits out of retirement as part of the resistance. Proceeds will go to The Bond Between who are taking in pets after people are disappeared by ICE. www.redbubble.com/i/sticker/Di...

Read this thread. Michael is spot on, as he always is.
In a recent episode of @arcanecarolinas.bsky.social we discussed an 18th/19th century NC legislator accused at the time of being a werewolf (for real). He was a grifter and racist, sent hired goons into towns that didn't vote for him, assaulted people, weaponized frivolous lawsuits, the works. 1/6

Thanks to my volunteer work at the Carnivore Preservation Trust (now the Carolina Tiger Rescue) in Chatham County NC AGES ago, I can say I have pet the following:

Ocelot
Caracal
Baby Snow Leopard
Baby Tiger

They were all very soft.
I got to pet an ocelot once and it was so soft and precious I walked around for the next hour riding a legitimate ocelot high.
Being a journalist is sick: I just contacted a pre-eminent jaguar conservationist in Argentine with a question that has been weighing on me for ages and he wrote back right away with an informed answer.

In not "the world is a hellscape" news, my last day as a corporate tech worker was Friday.

I am taking a week off before starting my new life as a househusband and assistant to @tkingfisher.com

Goodbye tech industry, you did ok by me, but it is time for something new.

If you work for ICE, quit now.

Your chances for future employment, meaningful friendships, and frankly, not getting shanked in prison are already pretty slim, but if you quit RIGHT NOW you might avoid the worst of what is coming.

Especially if you blow some whistles, and then testify.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Ya know, I expected the boot stamping on a human face, and I expected the cross carrying and wrapped in a flag. But what about the constant, internal screaming in the back of my head? Nobody said anything about that.

She also draws cute chickens holding signs.
I can draw very cute slugs.
Artists, I think we're all too comfortable sharing our imposter syndrome.

I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and confidently state what you think you're actually really good at.

No self deprecation, just what you think you're the strongest at

Is anyone brave eniough? 👀

Dear productivity app developers : if you say “calendar sync is supported” and the only ACTUAL thing I can connect to is Google Calendar, that NOT calendar sync, that’s google sync.

Brought to you by a very very frustrated person who wants that feature but does NOT want Google.

The average Peruvian viper kills zero people a year, Murderita the Viper with her 27,000 kills was a statistical aberration and should not have been counted.

I want to point out that this guy gave a long-ass speech just a few days ago where he said a specific Peruvian viper killed 27,000 people a year so maybe we shouldn't think he's a stickler for data.
