actually wait, i have one more thought: the fact that there are so many products and tips to help us use our phones less really bothers me.
like i’m sorry, products like bloom, brick, phone jails and lock boxes, screen time apps like one sec, screenzen… SHOULD NOT *HAVE TO* EXIST.

The Hierarchy of Controls (Most to Least Effective):

Administrative Controls: Implement policies, procedures, and training to change the way people work.
Examples: Rotating tasks to limit exposure time, implementing strict safety protocols, or scheduling work during the warmest part of the day.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Provide and require workers to use personal safety gear.
Examples: Gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, respirators, and protective clothing. PPE is the least effective control because it relies on the worker to use it correctly and provides only a barrier to the hazard.

i tried out a phone with a 3” screen from amazon (turns out it‘s a super sketchy knockoff galaxy so i will be returning it lmao). but it felt promising so i‘m gonna go with a unihertz jelly star. it feels like a comfortable midpoint between iphone life since 2012, vs an old nokia dumb phone.
