one thing i will say is that it is very unfortunate that angel city remained such a mess that they ruined the end for two homegrown stars at opposite ends of their career. everyone in that front office should go on lots of lengthy, quiet, soul-searching walks.

Also I don’t know where the legend is who used to pull all the CP23 film from all those NWSL games for years… but drop the full reel with, not just the goals, but sprints, the breaking ankles, the off the ball movement and all that shit that had all us diehard fans screaming “that’s my shoota!!!!”

Idk, outside of this, I had made peace with her never playing again. And then she did. I just took every moment as a miracle of modern medicine and sheer will. It wasn't the same, and that was okay. She and Ali walk away together, and that feels fitting. Two LA, Stanford girls that changed the game.

I legit just woke up. I have some thoughts for a later time. My tribute is this. There literally would be no Shea Butter FC without her. The first time a yelled "Shea Butter bomb" was organically watching a Christen Press USWNT goal. She gave my dream a name. Above all else, thank you for that CP23!

Random thought: at some point the salary cap will rise , so the nwsl will correctly pay veteran players. With that said, players will remember how you treated folks previously, so don’t be mad when they do not resign or fade you. FOs/Owners stay being idiotic

It’s not just MLS - I’m increasingly convinced soccer will “fail” because at this moment when U.S.-based fans love it more than ever, there is a rapidly shrinking media ecosystem covering the sport. This sucks so hard.

MLS is using generative AI to write match recaps. Writers used to get paid freelance rates to do that. Hssssss.
