Very happy for my neighbors a five-minute walk to my west who are going to elect Zohran Mamdani mayor today, but spare a thought for those us living under Trump's umbrella carrier Bruce Blakeman in Nassau County. Go vote for Seth Koslow and get this genital-inspecting Nazi freak the hell outta here!

Look, I know we're all having fun celebrating the death of a historic monster, but we need to leave space for folks who may not share our feelings. Some folks saw the news and thought "LOL!" while others heard and immediately felt "LMAO!" and it's important to hear both viewpoints.

Today is another illustration that one should live one's life so as not to have one's death celebrated

VP Cheney will be honoured with a 21 gun salute accidentally aimed directly at 21 of his friends
Why don’t you profile the women he sexually assaulted and drove out of the industry?

I don’t think the Republicans plan to open the government for a while.

Trump thinks he is untouchable while Congress is out. He has no incentive to get them back to work.

Heard the news that Cheney died so I went to find and read the sheriff’s report of the quail hunting shooting back in 2006, like any normal person would be doing while drinking coffee…

"Dick Cheney, Republican vice president who lied to start wars that killed 1,000,000 people, dies."

At least the CNN obituary recognizes how Cheney was entirely unrepentant for his crimes.

Dick Cheney died on Election Day 25 years too late.
Dick Cheney is responsible for paving the way for Trump. He’s just upset it wasn’t his own team that caused all this destruction. Yemakh shemo.
Demon. Demon. Demon. One of the worst people to happen to our country and several others.
REST IN PISS YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!

Alright I fucking wrote about this. It was apparently necessary to vent my rage about this this afternoon, because that took me two hours to get it all out and onto the page.

They gutted the Washington Post. CBS. NYT. Now Teen Vogue.

The point isn't to bring in more conservatives. They've reached that saturation point.

They are killing the fourth estate and buying up the social media to control the messages we see. These were all targeted to disarm the left of truth.

Ask any of your favorite Black women writers from a decade ago why their bylines stopped appearing, and you’ll likely hear the same response: There is no place for us in media. In TV. In publishing or academia. For the majority of us, there’s no place but gone.
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.
It’s never about making money or saving money. It’s always the owners going “that makes me feel bad. Punish them”, followed by “why are we losing money? Oh well.”
Elaine Welteroth, former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue and youngest editor of Condé Nast ever, and the 2nd African American to hold this position, changed Teen Vogue to be more politically conscious.

Ex-Teen Vogue editor Elaine Welteroth: ‘The headlines implied I was a token black hire’
Welteroth was just 29 when Anna Wintour made her editor-in-chief. Months later, the magazine shut down. What did she do next?

And anybody who can allegedly hold them accountable goes “now now, that would be impolite, and then I wouldn’t get invited to their parties”.
I’m still shocked it’s never about money. It’s always about “the owners want to feel good and be surrounded by people they like and it doesn’t matter if they’re good at their jobs” which is shortly followed by “why are we losing money?”
