if you get an EV then you'll still be traffic. only you'll be electric traffic now.

what you _really_ want but just probably haven't come to terms with yet is less time in your life of being traffic, less being in a car.

this requires good, safe biking infrastructure as well as an e-bike for many.
280 million e-bikes are slashing oil demand far more than electric vehicles
E-bikes and scooters displace 4x as much demand for oil as all of the EVs in the world.

I'm glad to read that the dotard's attempt to axe the BEV variant of the NGDV has failed. 30:70 split between ICE and BEV.

Your Holiday Packages Might Be Delivered by USPS's New Electric Mail Trucks
About 24,000 new vans are being used on USPS routes for the holiday rush, and many are all-electric.

so reputedly the EV6's upgrade-from-base Meridian sound system came with the subwoofer wired such that it was out of phase. swapping the pins on its connector would reverse the phase, and is easy enough to do, so I did it.

first step is to clear out one's under-floor junks and pop off a panel.

Another set of data from two significantly colder days. Even yesterday, with the low of 14 and high of 27F, it didn’t use its higher heat setting (which has a darker red color on this depiction) afaik. 7h 21m of heating time in those conditions.

until April (or a bit earlier if I max out the 24,000 miles on the lease's term somehow) we'll have 3 BEVs, with the Busy Forks living on the driveway.

just in case you were wondering, the Winix Tower XQ is a far better air purifier than the GermGuardian AC5109W, provided you have the space for the former.

13.25 x 13.25 x 31" vs 11.5 x 11 x 23" per my tape measure.

Patriot Games was another fun read. Ending was lame, though: too low visibility, if you will, and chaotic with moving pieces everywhere to really gel.

Onwards per the Goodreads Jack Ryan reading order.

today I saw the face of a 2025 EV6 in my rearview mirror while on my way to the trailhead in Golden. when it passed me I thought I saw a GT badge!

but it also had a white inside of steering wheel, smol brake rotors (and bare metal calipers), and no 21" wheels.

so a GT-Line poseur. hmph.

of course, right after I put down a (small) deposit on a Powerwall setup... which I'm still going to move forward with because

a) my white Kia's on a 36 month lease and I'm not planning on buying it out at term end
The Kia EV6 And Hyundai Ioniq 9 Will Be Able To Power Your Home Soon
The two electric crossovers will join the Kia EV9, which is already compatible with V2H in the United States.

random factoid about the rare odd bird 2025 EV6 GT:

apparently Korean market floormats are affixed to the car's carpet with button type fasteners, as opposed to hooks used for USDM vehicles.

and then when I stepped off, my Watch was all "do you want to log an Indoor Walk activity?"

it is shaming me
