The most difficult part of returning from Asia, aside from the jet lag.

lol Lufthansa, this is unbelievably petty. I can't believe an entire chain of people at the company thought this was a good idea and actually executed on it.

It’s awesome that Asian urban department stores are so wildly busy and all have amazing food courts/shops in the lower levels.

If this was a Macy’s the basement would be reserved for overpriced couches and rugs until the store is shut down because nobody shops there.

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

Or hear me out - re-establish the original links, consider tram-train connectivity which can drive higher ridership, without any tech-bro stuff.

ie. Cross-country cooperation with transit. Not impossible.

Very good thread about medical incident in planes and how the flight crew handle them.
Never had been aboard a plane that diverted but several call for medical staff, sick passengers and one case where we landed at destination but paramedics came onboard.
An #avgeek 🧵

If you fly people around for a living then one of the most common emergencies you deal with is passengers in medical distress.

When someone is having a serious issue it becomes a team effort for the crew and our support staff on the ground.

Performing a D Check in the kitchen and bathroom : empty all cupboards, closets and drawers, clean them and then put everything back but with repair and optimization.

Everytime I read something on Taiwan I feel this is like the most underrated place on Earth. Unfortunately this trek is not really near the places I will visit in January otherwise I would do it.
Last night, we returned to Quanhua Temple in Miaoli. It’s one of several temples in Taiwan that offer accommodation for pilgrims and travellers.

"the crew performed the return flight without questioning the MEL."
Once more, very questionable behavior by SmartWings pilots. This is a recurring occurence in the last few years their pilots took poor decision leading to incidents.

And nobody is asking those airlines if it is smart to do business with a neo nazi, who has used Starlink as a bargaining chip to help Russia and who is prone to disinformation and far right propaganda. None of the articles relaying the news like the one quoted also question this.
