I have so so much to say about making these two magical weeks. About this, the final episode of my @Slowdownshow.org hosting visit. And I will. I will ...

but for now I'm just going to keep sharing and letting the work speak for itself.

Because the work ... whew ... does it ever speak. <3 <3 <3
"'Crossing the Rubicon' has long been a widely used idiom. It refers to having stepped over a line, or passed a point of no return," guest host @scryptkeeper.bsky.social shares in episode 1456.

Long a widely used idiom, “Crossing the Rubicon” refers to a stepped-over line, a passed point of no return, when one has taken the final step into dangerous waters from which there is no retreat; once that line has been crossed, nothing will ever be the same. — Samiya

My first question was wondering how close this was to Broadway and my second was how close this was to the African Burial Grounds...

Looks like literally one block away and then a 30 min walk down (i.e. close)

We will never know the depths of the devastation Black people endured here

As someone who grew up in the hippiest of hippy-ass college towns (outside of say Berkeley) in the muhfunhn coke-laced 80s we learned the alt-archy quick: weed creates community; coke creates angry isolated wannabe capitalists. I’m not anti-…do you…but like: are you really having fun? No? Then WHY?!
How many lines of coke would someone you’re chilling with have to do in front of you before you leave?

Former Washington Post journalists have launched a GoFundMe to help repatriate fired staff members who are effectively stranded in foreign countries.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.
