The closer we get to mid-terms the more interests are going to pop up.
Crack in the armor or a one off due to interests?
🚨 The Senate votes 52-48 to overturn President Trump's 50 percent tariffs on Brazil. 5 GOP Senators break ranks to vote against Trump: Collins ME, McConnell KY, Murkowski AK, Paul KY, and Tillis NC.
I met him at a tech event when he was working at EMC back in 2012-13 or so.
i mean pat gelsinger was the ceo of intel ffs
Now the is the correct way to write a headline.
Voters in both states will decide on the measures at a time when President Trump continues to lie about widespread fraud leading to his loss in the 2020 presidential election and make unsubstantiated claims about future election-rigging.

Maine and Texas latest fronts in voting battles, with voter ID, citizenship on the ballot
The initiatives are the latest in a wave of voting-related measures since President Donald Trump's false claims about widespread fraud costing him reelection in 2020.

For my fellow bluesky EV owners. I couldn't wait for battery prices to drop (mumble-mumble tariffs) so I traded my 2012 Nissan Leaf for a 2021 Mustang Mach-E. Going from a 50 mile range (leaf had the original battery) to 211 miles. That and all the other differences. #EV
In my extended family (friends included) uncle or aunt usually meant older, cousin meant similar age. I'm standard mid-west white. A lot of this is just to avoid explaining why this person is around.
Speaking as a dude who has a yearly family reunion, "aunt" and "uncle" fill a role, what the fuck are you supposed to call all those other older people you're vaguely related to, do you think there's someone running around with an org chart saying who's a second cousin thrice removed or something

defend civil rights as a whole or shut the fuck up and vote Republican
If you mean ornamental (not real) you have to purchase for the next season. I procured my 3 skeletons from Kohl's after Halloween last year. This year has been terrible for holiday decorations, because say it with me, tariffs.
There's gotta be a way to score some cheap skeletons that isn't grave robbery or murder acid bath

And these men are easily reached in male coded activities like sports and wrestling.
This is one of those posts where I want to add more context to make it more accurately generalized but like. Yeah. Nailed it.

This is even more true today than when I first posted this years ago.

"Throwing caution to the wind, Musk took aim at ... Transportation Secretary and acting NASA administrator Sean P. Duffy — igniting a new public feud with the Trump administration through an official who possesses direct oversight of his business empire."
Musk doubles down in fight with Trump administration, risking his empire
The tech executive has shown little sign of backing down from a battle over the future of NASA. It has spilled into the Transportation Department, which oversees regulation for Tesla.

I'm no legal scholar but this is voodoo. Assuming maybe all judges are trained the same, which they are not, this is typical, never ending political nonsense.
Would that be the $230 million he gets from the DOJ.
The credulity here is inexcusable. Trump will not be donating his own fucking money. You can explain that he's claimed he will do that, but you can't just uncritically print that he plans to do that.
That's all he knows how to do. The Pod Save guys are just unserious, reactionary cranks.
Seriously, why are you insulting people's intelligence like this. There is very obviously a massive excluded middle between "bland Ivy League corporate automaton" and "still has large Nazi tattoo." There's nothing wrong with having found him appealing. He was! But it's over and this is silly
It continues to show how politically inept the Dems are in finding talent. The ones that are strong and exciting (AOC or Mamdani) have to fight their way out. Trump wins because the Dems refuse to fight.
the “politics can be a game of cultural affinity or it can be a game of winning” actually goes for everyone
"You cannot be explaining your Nazi tattoo and defeat a multi-term incumbent."
The rest of the world is trying to create undersea energy storage and the US tech lords are plugging in gas turbines to create a giant talking parrot.

The way this album had a hold on me in college. I know every word to every song.

I used to wonder about tattoo dudes like this, it's stickers on a laptop.
Steve, you are always so depressingly on point. I truly enjoy how you manage to fill in the blanks for topics that I intuit but lack the detail to explain.
Excellent thread, although it does make me wonder when the house of cards is finally going to collapse. Will it be before or after some impending climate catastrophe?
always worth asking of any form of “investing”, is some meaningful social contribution getting compensated at a reasonable rate, or are returns at these levels some form of extraction laundered through complicated financial and regulatory machinery?

(i think index funds have been a catastrophe.)
hot take I sort of believe: index fund investing is immoral. you're supposed to be paying attention to your money
I think we see this in American industry. American CEOs value stock price more than the value of the product to the consumer. This is why China is stomping all over us in most manufacturing spaces. It's also fueling the tech and AI investment. All these products are there to create investor value.
sure. but first there’s the choice between spending and saving. to a first approximation, what we collectively save goes nowhere. buying a stock or an index doesn’t cause buying factories or anything like that. 1/
