Today, sixty days after being laid off by JPL, my severance pay and insurance coverage expire.

At JPL, I did engineering ops for the Curiosity Rover 🚀. Before that, I studied entrepreneurship and management at Stanford.

Please reskeet this so I can make new connections and find new opportunities 🤠

When doing math, the standards for the 8 mathematical practices are what the students should be DOING. Which MP are they working on today?

Note: MP6 is NOT "Show your work"

I so agree! This book offers strategies that can be easily implemented in the classroom .
Great pro-d book!
Here’s what it inspired me to try:

Though I’m neither a writer, nor illustrator, I found this post was quite interesting to read, as someone who buys books for libraries and is curious about how publishing/agent/etc systems work (and I’m sure there are lots of opinions about the content here, but I’m not the one to debate with—IDK)
"Why are picture books texts so hard to sell?" Short answer: THEY'RE NOT! This is one of the biggest misconceptions about children's publishing. After saying this for the twelfth millionth time this week, I wrote a looong post about it: writingcommunity.ca/kidlit-confu... #kidlit #picturebook #pb

Scaffolds are meant to be TEMPORARY.

Otherwise, we'd still be looking at the Statue of Liberty like this...

It's no different for learning.

Scaffolds were meant to be used & then eventually taken down.

Today, a teacher was excited to show me the driving question board her students made this week because of how much growth it shows from the first! I love that I get these snippets of how much students and teachers are growing in these skills. #NGSS #EduCoach

A group of girls decided to do an interpretive dance to show what they had learned. They made a TikTok out of it with captions, dance and music. We talked and they know the science so I am good with the video. Very impressed with them. #edusky
I’m so excited. I have just finished a virtual coaching cycle where I saw amazing measurable change in teaching practices that led to more student success. Thanks #Sibme for tools and resources to guide this teacher. Professional development teachers look forward to each week.
Certainly I sometimes teach a science and literacy unit using squirrels to K-5 teachers.
Love this photo . Can I use in professional development presentations?

I say this to my students and parents all the time. Want to be a better reader? Read. A better writer? Read. More empathetic? Read. Deeper thinker? Read.
I had many followers on Twitter but not sure people even remember me anymore.
