I often ask for feedback from students and they often reflect - it’s not that I give more work, it’s that they have to think and understand in my class… it’s not about the amount of work, it’s about the depth.

I’d like to make some more friends who are into comics and graphic novels and are educators and librarians. This circle is small… but powerful.

I read the prose version w/ my kids when it first came out. Opened powerful & honest conversations in my family. The graphic novel was just released today & it is powerful. Emotional. Honest. Will bring this conversation to an entire new set of readers & I am grateful. @jewellparkerrhodes.bsky.social

I say this to my students and parents all the time. Want to be a better reader? Read. A better writer? Read. More empathetic? Read. Deeper thinker? Read.

Help. I am trying to expand my consulting business but am running into issues contacting the “right” people. If you are in the comics business, I’d greatly appreciate an intro to those interested in what I have to offer. My email is [email protected]

My favorite tweet of all-time. On my bulletin board with a picture of my kids and I. Powerful reminders of why I do what I do - as a parent and educator.

On our half-day today,we are watching G Willow Wilson’s inspiring Ted Talk on creating Ms Marvel, the importance of seeing ourselves in our heroes, and being bold. Also - the new Poison Ivy annual is absolute fire - parallels the Arthurian legends in a new and beautiful way. A must read. @gwillow.me

Well... this morning I was interviewed by an organization in Switzerland on how I build community and empathy in my classroom - podcast out soon. I was then so motivated to submit my entry into the Disney contest centering on integrating imagination in the classroom. Here’s hoping!
