Credibility is not about your degree on the wall.
It's about the degree in which your learners trust that you have the best intentions for them & their learning.

If I am pro explicit instruction, do I HAVE to be anti-inquiry.

I don't think so.

All can serve a purpose for learning depending on our design.

Who does well in school?
Kids who "know lots."
They come this way from homes that "have lots."

So, what about those kids from homes with "less?"

Our job in school is to make learning happen with ALL learners. Those with lots & those with less.

Achievement increases
Misbehaviors decline
Learning happen

Stop throwing money, programs, interventions & the kitchen sink at Tiers 2 & 3.

Tier 1 is where our work is & the problems get solved.
It requires intentional design.

Motivated
Self-directed
Critical thinkers
Reflective
Self-regulatory
And a lot more.

Then we have to ask this:
Are we designing what we do in the room that gives the kids the opportunity to do this?

Or do we just give them work to do?
