Sometimes the BIOS doesn’t look for the button if it’s being restarted, it needs a complete power down. Don’t know WHY, but it’s fixed the problem for me before

He used two sources that lack questions on gender identity (the FIRE survey doesn't ask gender identity, I don't think) and then used student surveys from a private prep school, Brown University. He dismisses (basically) the General Social Survey has not reaching enough college age people.

Also, this cultural "uncanny valley" gets really weird for science fiction, which is supposed to be about "the future" but was written for a then-contemporary audience (with a then-contemporary understanding of tech/science) so it has two full vectors of cultural shift, running at different speeds

ACTUALLY, I have a theory that most books enter a cultural "uncanny valley" 20-25 years after release, where the culture has shifted just enough they're not contemporary anymore, so new readers can't directly relate, and they stay in the valley for about 50 years until they're clearly historical

Yeah, if you soaked in the culture of a faith that says 'there is literally nothing you can do to atone for your actions other than to abdicate all responsibility to a higher power to solve it for you', it doesn't matter if you personally practice that faith, it's going to affect your worldview.
