Human who is trying. Apologies to the person whose picture I stole for my profile. It was too beautiful and I don’t remember who you are.

One person doesn’t define an entire half of a country.

Especially not her.

That person doesn’t count as “The left” in my view.

If you didn’t know, Alaska has been hit by a massive storm, causing severe flooding. Many Indigenous villages have been completely wiped out, with some houses floating away with PEOPLE INSIDE THEM. Please keep posting to spread the info. They need help.
newseye.bsky.social
These are mostly indigenous communities in Alaska that have been slammed by the storm.

The local manager of a small airline fleet says he is the only one doing evacuations right now!

Defund FEMA and people are abandoned. Defund public media and no-one knows.

FYI, today is Indigenous Peoples Day.

Just ... take the W people.

The more we credit these organizations for taking the baby steps opposing Trump, the more likely they are to do them.

And baby steps add up.

Taking children to raise in the genocidal country’s traditions is very common.

(There are no good guys in this story, unfortunately)
sarabjustone.bsky.social
It’s not some righteous cause.

It’s bombing to smithereens a territory that they control almost completely, and which residents are unable to leave.

Not justified, not ok.
sarabjustone.bsky.social
I don’t think this conversation is really going anywhere, but I’ll just say this:

Israel are not the good guys here.
sarabjustone.bsky.social
And what relationship does that have with this discussion?
sarabjustone.bsky.social
You’re just bringing up randomness instead of making an actual argument.

My point was that those are NOT in Vietnam.
sarabjustone.bsky.social
You’re very invested in the US not being guilty of genocide.

That’s weird. The US isn’t some innocent little lamb in the world of geopolitics.

And in any case, it’s not relevant to this discussion.
sarabjustone.bsky.social
And yet still essential.

Did we plan to build the President a resort on the ruins?

I would like to hear about this.

I do, actually know very little about Vietnam specifically. My American history class stopped in the 50s.
sarabjustone.bsky.social
And those are in Vietnam?
sarabjustone.bsky.social
Just look at the satellite pictures.

That is not the result of a targeted military operation to retrieve hostages.

That is indiscriminate bombing.

So what is it for?

All I can say is that the result is a lot of dead Gazans and a conveniently demolished land ready for occupation.
sarabjustone.bsky.social
Do you really, honestly think that the presence of tunnels underground justifies bombing neonatal units?

Honestly?
sarabjustone.bsky.social
I’m also pretty sure that there were no plans to build the President some nice resorts on the ruins.
sarabjustone.bsky.social
Tbh, I don’t know enough about Vietnam to say.

But I’m pretty sure that we didn’t raze Vietnam to the ground while pretending to care about hostages.
