First year selling my art at Christmas without the Other site, where most of my sales came from, as well as losing US orders to new tariffs, so it'll be a tough one - I put huge work into every order, so even if you can't buy, shares help get them in front of eyes. GRMA! www.ciaraioch.com/artprints

😍I would be very happy to find something like this under my Christmas tree.
This Jacobean travelling library was commissioned for a gentleman to carry his own collection of miniature vellum-bound books inside a wooden case ~ contents are listed on the inside cover (1617). Possibly, the first of its kind (University of Leeds) www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

A wonderful teacher and an inspiring champion for social justice

A fearless champion of equality, fairness & justice, Ann Louise Gilligan is remembered as ‘the spark that lit the marriage equality movement’. The court case to recognise her marriage to Katherine Zappone sparked the decade-long fight for marriage equality.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

Prashant Singh in the lab of Tina Iverson at Vanderbilt published this image of the bacterial 🦠flagellar motor, a detailed molecular model made possibly by CryoEM 🔬.

The similarity to mechanical motors are strong enough we can use terms like stator, rotor, rod & gearing to describe it.

The most important thing universities should do in a world with AI is to greatly increase the number of professors, so that classes can be smaller and more class time can be spent directly interacting with students as people.
