72 years old; pro-democracy. I hate Nazis and fascists: they desecrate everything/everybody they touch. Fighting so my daughter and every young person can have decent lives. Putin is an existential threat. We need a new New Deal or else we're done.

I see that CBS chose not to air this part. It probably explains much of what they did decide to air.

The welfare state is about dignity, equality, and making people not poor, but as @itsafronomics.bsky.social says/cites here, it’s often also an investment that more than pays for itself
Why should you 🫵🏿 care about SNAP? SNAP recipients saw:

- Improved life expectancy
- Lower chance of incarceration
- Lowers chance of poverty
- Lived in better neighborhoods
- Higher human capital

SNAP keeps our neighbors fed, communities safer, and kids educated. Also people are HUNGRY. DUH!

Not one of these assholes who work for Kirk’s show and/or TPUSA apologized to the math teachers for their clickbait doxxing with zero proof. Neither did Mike Lee. Yet they are always telling everyone how Christian they are. Just talentless scum clinging to their grift.

This is why Bruce Arthur is one of the best writers on sports (and other things, too) on the continent.
They say baseball breaks your heart, and the Blue Jays are a Hall of Fame what if team, now. So what does it mean to watch your team lose the World Series in one of the greatest games ever played? It means you got to feel something; you just didn’t get to choose what. www.thestar.com/sports/blue-...
Bruce Arthur: These Blue Jays are a Hall of Fame ‘what if’ team. The World Series loss just makes the heartbreak worse
This World Series will echo across Canada for decades, because Toronto lost the MLB championship in one of the greatest baseball games ever played.

That’s by design. Billionaires monetize rage bait, and it has the added bonus of keeping us fighting with each other while they rob us blind. But one day soon, all the anger from the culture wars they’ve cultivated to distract us from the class war will be turned on them.
One of the biggest revelations of the social media age imo is how much people are addicted to getting mad, so much so that they'll actively create reasons when there are none.

The details my colleagues and I uncovered of this money laundering investigation into Jeffrey Epstein between 2007 and 2008 has been shrouded in secrecy for nearly two decades.

Americans are hungry. Meanwhile, Trump throws a big party, tears down half the White House at taxpayers' expense, & renovates a bathroom.
ACA is going up by $1000s/mo for normal Americans. Millions won't be able to afford healthcare. Medicaid is not expanded in TX, so we will have many uninsured.

Textbook mental illness.

In Donald Trump's mind, there is only him. He is everything. Everything is his. Everything is about him. Nothing else, no one else, matters.

In his own mind, he is the law. Everyone must follow him. He is the only one who gets to say what is right and what is wrong. ...
