One of the surprising things to me down here in NZ is that ppl seem quite unaware that meta/FB is terrible and so is Elon. I just get blank stares when I say why I'm not on a meta product or that Tesla's are shit and so is Elon.

only state in the lower 48 (and ive been in all of them) i felt uncomfortable as an almost laughably stereotypical white, cis dude. I got the beard, had the 4x4 then, an outdoorsman, all that. I still got super bad vibes in the backcountry there.

many years ago i would break out a link from "let me google that for you" for ppl like that. Google has certainly gotten worse in the last 10 years but it still works for basic stuff. But, a greater share of ppl seem to be utterly incapable of googling anything. Its wild.

They are just so so stupid. A handful of years ago I worked for a fortune 30 company and we got a new CTO and he wouldn't STFU about how awesome Elon was. How smart, what a generational talent, etc. immediately and obviously I concluded our new CTO was a fucking moron.
