turns out signing a cba then vetoing a proposed contract by claiming it "violates the spirit of the rule" gets the attention of contract lawyers and congressional oversight committees
The text of this letter, reported on earlier by @meglinehan.com, is definitely worth reading, but the phrase "raises significant oversight concerns" should be a 🚨🚨🚨 moment at the league office.
It is critical that collective bargaining agreements be honored in accordance with federal labor laws—especially at a time of tremendous growth for women’s sports.
