Migrants aren’t the problem. Unfettered capitalism, obscene wealth, massive inequality and man-made climate change are. But how much easier it is to believe that someone from ‘over there’ is ruining your life. Migration is what we, as a species, have done for millennia

That Farage is treated seriously shows how degraded the politics in the UK habe become.
Barring absolute far right racists, anyone with half a brain cell can see this latest raft of proposals would utterly destroy the UK, as well as the lives of migrants. 1/

Reform will apparently pledge today that they'd abolish indefinite leave to remain - including retrospectively, to people already granted it. Obviously this is a moral abomination but it is also a practical and legal impossibility.

This is happening because the Government has failed for the past year to make a positive case for immigration and why we need people here. There are plenty of examples of economies that have collapsed - including our own after Brexit - when immigrants leave en masse. Google Uganda under Idi Amin.

Labour must finally stand up firmly against a Reform policy. Call it out for the obscenity it is. Starmer has recently finally spoken out against populism and division. What could be more populist and divisive than this? Nor for heaven's sake, don't dodge it, or excuse it. Challenge it.

This has to be a moment of reckoning. Broadcasters must focus on the practical consequences and make them clear. It would be utter, society altering chaos. That should dominate the approach, as it would coverage of any other party's policies.

I’m watching and it’s astounding. We all knew something like this was going on - but the extent of it! While so many were suffering, dying, sunk into loneliness - a few were absolutely RAKING IT IN. The COVID health crisis was a very, very lucrative opportunity for some.
🚨Our upcoming documentary on the VIP Lane made the ITV news this evening.

Elon Musk openly called for violence on our streets yesterday.

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.

Every decent politician should be ‘disturbed’ by Tommy Robinson’s fascist march in London and Musk’s calls for violence on our streets.
Every decent politician should stop claiming this horror is an expression of ‘free speech’.
It’s vicious, racist incitement.
DO something about it.

A sobering but massively powerful piece. Our youngest's girlfriend is black and was due to travel back to London yesterday via Waterloo. She asked to stay here in relative, rural security because she was scared of the people on that march. This is not a drill open.substack.com/pub/iandunt/...

Killing the other side's negotiating team (multiple times!) should make it pretty clear the Israeli Government does not want a negotiated peace in Gaza. Netanyahu wants an end to Palestinian statehood as a possibility.

This is becoming abundantly clear to everyone, except it seems, our leaders.

Make sure to circulate this far & wide. Destroying Banksy’s work only creates more exposure
The court is erasing Banksy's mural just like it's erasing our right to protest

It only took 48 hours for the court to scrub out a Banksy showing a judge striking down a protester with his gavel

Silencing a work of art about silencing protest? Maybe it was a little too close to home

Farage needs to be fully exposed so that even the BBC can’t continue to parade him on our screens daily. He should be in prison for treason- but tax fraud will do
Yet his partner Gin company is about to be struck off owing £11,000.

Who is owed £11k?

Farage could easily afford to bail it out.

He CHOOSES not to do so.
