For days, I’ve been talking to a woman whose loved one has disappeared into ICE system. The torture of not knowing where this person is and what’s going to happen to them - it reminds me of covering the parents searching for the bodies of their missing kids in Mexico. No answers. No good answers.

California has nearly 40 million people, and New York about 20 million, yet they get 54 and 28 electoral votes respectively. Wyoming’s 580k residents get 3 votes, meaning their votes carry about 3.6x more weight. This system doesn’t proportionately represent the population of the country.
