Ever since that incident, she has been routinely called upon by the tabloid press to oblige with bigoted comments on bigoted issues. I cannot understand why this is even still a cause for debate.

Gillian Duffey was a bigoted woman and Gordon Brown should’ve stuck to his guns and explained why his immediate reaction was justified.

UK "job vacancies" have fallen for 39 consecutive quarters. There are c.10% fewer vacancies now than there were before Covid.

There are 2.4 *actually unemployed* people for every vacancy, never mind how many other people politicians would like to persecute.

From the reports I've seen, Israel football fans have behaved disgracefully abroad (although Ajax fans responded very badly too).

The way that football has sorted out such problems is by taking a very hard line on the clubs involved. Not sure Maccabi Tel Aviv can have any complaints.

I know this area well and the crazy thing is that there is a live information board about the tide times that you have to pass and it's plastered with warnings about what to do if you get stuck. You can see it on Google Maps.

Emily Damari, the British-Israeli woman who was held hostage by Hamas for more than 15 months after the 7 October massacre and released in January, has issued a statement strongly condemning the ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans attending the Europa League match. She says, as a Maccabi fan, she is personally affected.

She says:

I am shocked to my core with this outrageous decision to ban me, my family and my friends from attending an Aston Villa game in the UK.

Football is a way of bringing people together irrespective of their faith, colour or religion and this disgusting decision does the exact opposite.

Shame on you. I hope you come to your senses and reconsider.

do wonder what exactly has become of UK society. This is like putting a big sign on the outside of a stadium saying: “No Jews allowed.”
