Not that Google is better or anything but it's one less evil corporation on the books. It's ironic that I am slowly de-googling and did this but even YouTube Premium is on the list. Google will take longer to decouple and this didn't increase my money to them. Cold comfort for sure.

It took longer than it should have because I kept forgetting but I've now cancelled Spotify. There's no ethical consumption under capitalism and we are already paying for YouTube Premium so I just transferred everything there.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Some days just existing without giving up is all you can manage. That's resistance in and of itself and it's enough. The world is on fire so drink enough water and get enough to eat and figure things out from there. Take care of yourself.

Honestly, just about any of 60 dollar ones on Amazon will work. I've had 3 or 4 of them at different gigs and never had an issue. I'm currently using an unbranded 4 computer 2 monitor KVM that was the cheapest on the page when I searched with no issues.

Just because it's being passed around a lot: NO, data centers in space do NOT benefit from space being cold. Space is cold in the formal sense we use to define temperature. But it is very bad at cooling. What would you rather have to cool hot metal: a lukewarm water tub or a giant cold atmosphere?

My go-to outside places like a doctor's office (the grocery store, convenience store, etc). Is loudly exclaiming "Penis!" when someone is on speakerphone.

I was working from a hospital today and went outside for a meeting so I didn't bother anyone else. Even using headphones with a mic there's zero reason to bother anyone else with your side of the conversation. Rah is absolutely right about how obnoxious this is.
Four separate people in this waiting room are using laptops or cell phones without headphones. If I get arrested, I'm gonna need you all to testify that it was a justifiable felony

E-book licensing has a max number of loans and a license has to be purchased for each concurrent user. It is supposed to mimic books wearing out to some degree. Also books wear out, get destroyed, and have to be replaced so it's not a one time purchase.
