The studios stopped hiring Drew Struzan for their movie posters. Guillermo Del Toro famously wanted him for the second Hellboy movie and the studio rejected it so GDT paid him out of his own pocket, as the legend goes.
RIP to a generational talent.

I did a couple layers of a sepia underpainting for my new Toni Storm portrait. I used sepia for this one to work with the ultimate color palette I have in mind, giving it all some nice richness.

There’s a gal I was friends with in high school who was a 90’s alt type. We haven’t talked since but we connected on Goodreads and it’s been a journey watching her reading list go from ‘expecting mom’ books to The Bible to far right crap to ex-vangelical to sci-fi smut. Happy for her!

I had no idea that there was an I Love Lucy comic strip and holy moly Bob Oksner’s art for it was some bulletproof cartooning. Gorgeous acting with a deceptively effortless-looking clean line.

Who is Osh-Tisch?
Osh-Tisch was a Apsáalooke Badé, a role within the Crow Nation that defied traditional gender norms, embodying both masculine and feminine qualities. Before colonization, Badé were deeply respected for their unique spiritual gifts, artistry, and contributions to community life.
As a Badé, Osh-Tisch carried responsibilities tied to culture, ceremony, and social balance. Their life shows how many of our nations embraced gender diversity long before Western colonial powers imposed rigid binaries.

There’s an incredible story about the Battle of Helm’s Deep scene. Hundreds of extras in costume with props had spent hours getting organized and right as Bakshi was about to yell action one of the extras instead yelled “LUNCH!” and they all walked away.
“I just lost half a million dollars…”

19 years ago today Katy and I had our first date. Doesn’t feel like that long at all. She pushed back the time to get her hair done. I accidentally ate meat (prosciutto sounds like a cheese name), and we talked about everything you’re not supposed to on a first date aka we were real. It worked out!
