Kind of amazing that the photo Politico used of one of these folks -- the one who made a joke about gas chambers -- is from an event that Politico sponsored last summer.

That was definitely something I picked up on in I think the Beasts of War forums

Anyway, this is where we'll see in five years!

The tank for sure stood out to me. But again, and I'd have to peek back through the CH lawsuit (ugh), I don't think GW can claim "gun with lasgun bulb on the end"
brocktoon.bsky.social
Sure, no doubt. I just mean that we've already had that particular argument and GW mostly lost. If they want to have another go in an EU court on the same basis, ok. It simply strikes me as strange that if that's the case there are others who seem more 1:1 GW style sculpts.
brocktoon.bsky.social
Sure, but they've avoided that for 10 years because they took the replication argument to court in the US and (mostly) lost. And I'd say Ghamak's minis are less GW than Chapterhouse's.
brocktoon.bsky.social
Got it and makes sense. I'm curious if because of that difference a successful case can be read in that maximal worst case reading. And, thinking out loud, if GW know that. It's not like they're going nuclear on another American studio eg.
brocktoon.bsky.social
But what I do know is that GW's anxieties seem different from the outside than 15 years ago, which is of course representative of how different they are.
brocktoon.bsky.social
I don't know! That's part of why it's so interesting, because it doesn't seem to be a copyright claim. I have to revisit what Ghamak is saying, but I believe the lead sculptor points out some subtlties to the cited law in his patreon post. This is also where I'm not a lawyer and need to shut up.

The Argument is the first instantiation of cross-branded corporate controlled mashup culture. It led to all of the ruin you see before you now. We are lost.

If you are applying for a faculty job in Texas, argue for a higher salary than you'd get at other institutions. The lack of real tenure protections is a de facto compensation cut and you should negotiate accordingly.

Texas search committees know that getting good candidates is an uphill battle.

If you make "controversial statements" outside of classroom, that the President of the university dislikes, you can be summarily fired even if you are tenured.

I just learned, Thomas Alter, tenured professor, has been terminated effective immediately. Shame on Texas State! We mst build support for Tom. spectrumlocalnews.com/tx/south-tex...

Yep. And the seemingly less radical innovations in communication technology (newspapers, radio/TV) also coincided with periods of mass slaughter.

Let's rerun it baby!
