To all the young people in New York and across our country who count on gender-affirming care:

I won't let this administration come for you, your doctors, or your lifesaving health care.

Your health care is still legal and protected.

I'll always fight for you.

Let's say they get a fission reactor into orbit... what's it powering? How will they refuel it with the current fleet of capsules? Are other satellites in the same orbit protected for radiated susceptibility caused by having a nuclear reactor in your orbit?

Also, what's the fucking point?

Within living memory queer and trans communities have faced genocides — and defied them. Militant groups like ACT-UP show that organizing and confrontation, not waiting on political elites who don't care about our existence, can win some real victories: transnews.network/p/reagan-era...

Piggybacking on my last repost, distribution of our messaging MUST extend beyond social media. If we have access to printers or craft supplies, then we can make posters and zines. If we have a voice, we can share our messages at bars and coffee shops and street corners. Personal risk notwithstanding

The next 12 months are going to be marked by extreme economic crisis and political instability. We need to put forward visions of a better world and make them as material and reproducible as possible, because we are about to enter an period of massive social rearrangement and experimentation

What bothers me more than anything about this is that many of the same people who correctly go, "This guy's a crank!" when he's talking about Tylenol causing autism or anti-vax stuff will sit there nodding along like, "Hey, if HHS said this, it must be legit!" when it involves trans care.
I’m at HHS headquarters where RFK Jr. is announcing new restrictions on gender-affirming care for minors by spouting pseudoscience and political misinformation that goes against every major medical association.

Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.

i don't think this is even a real statistical anomaly anymore. it seems like there's someone in the crowd at every mass shooting who has been through it before. this doesn't have to be our shared cultural experience.
