One of the nice touches in the game #CivVII is that a migrant is a *reward*, a little bit of free population you didn't have to work for.
That, my friends, should be said more often.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

I find Sunday Worship quite a mixed bag, reasonably enough, but I enjoyed this one: neatly blended themes of Advent, St Andrew, and the Inspiring Word.

A) Xmas pud is a necessary vehicle for brandy butter
B) the Christian stuff isn't clumsily bolted on, it's finessed beautifully, woven into Advent and Lent as twin counter weights
Light and dark, life and death are our bread and butter(/wine)
C) nobody's making you eat the turkey

I do think this is what so many people get wrong about management.

You're not getting paid more because you are somehow nebulously better.

It is compensation for accepting responsibility.

Shit stops with you. Even when you know someone else did it. You manage that shit.
