Hey look, Israel broke the cease-fire, twice, in two different ways, within 24 hours - again.
mondoweiss.net
NEW: Israel informed the UN it will permit only 300 aid trucks into Gaza daily, not the 600 mandated by the ceasefire it just signed.

Just saw a website that offered "Up to £41.88 of savings!" and did a PROPER double-take. The internet has poisoned me 😫

Sucks to suck. Boy better get selling them brain pills, pronto.

Delegates of TLG contributed to this united left platform to fight for trans liberation, party democracy and socialism in Your Party
prometheusjournal.bsky.social
In an unprecedented display of unity, seven groups on the left came together at The World Transformed Festival to agree on a programme for winning a member-led socialist Your Party.

Read their proposal below:

Fucks saaaaaaake. The west *really* didn't deal with its fascism problem, post-WW2, did it?
redtim.bsky.social
Yeah, it gave the impression of being the tip of some Keyser Soze level, unfuckwithable drugs empire and it was just about 5 guys in a drug lab who folded as soon as the FBI showed up.

Only surprised it didn't happen sooner tbh

I am still moving forward with setting up a group meant for watching films and supporting each other to create art.

If you're UK based and interested in working with creatives to support each other in making projects a reality, email [email protected].

The setup is kind of interesting, but never pays off enough and you're just left feeling like "Is that it?", also the pacing is shite. Eric Bana does ok as the burdened, traumatised father/brilliant investigator, but it's also *very* cliché in that respect.
redtim.bsky.social
Just finished Untamed, with Eric Bana.

Short version, don't bother. Some impressive scenery, but other than that a very dull plot poorly delivered, with a couple of "twists" that nobody asked for and really didn't land well.

Because every single post-Thatcher govt has institutionalised and deepened the neoliberal economic model she pioneered - to the detriment of everyone but a handful of hedge fund managers and landowners. Any deviance from this is crucified by the fascist press barons she also helped inaugurate.

Yousef Munayyer: "People are hoping this is the end of the genocide.. the world is relying on a convicted felon in the White House to ensure that an indited war criminal that leads the Israeli govt is going to do the right thing.. I'm sceptical that it moves beyond the first phase"

Ehhhh, I guess, but I feel like at this point in history we don't gotta hand it to him on *anything*

Even funnier (not haha funny, obvs) is any reference (like I've just seen) to Trump having brought this about.

Motherfucker, the man can't even string a sentence together, you really think he had anything meaningful to do with the negotiations?
redtim.bsky.social
More than happy to be proven wrong, of course.

It's kinda cute how some people and publications are talking about the ceasefire in Gaza like it's going to happen.

A fundamental aspect of deep Nazi lore is that as they were descended from a race of ice people and would therefore be able to withstand the cold of Russian winter.

A quick glance at history tells us how well this worked out for them.
johnbrownbread.bsky.social
The nazis themselves were not some clever masterminds where everything they did went perfect. They were also comical idiots who did ridiculous things, like invading Russia in the winter.

They gained power because the opposition couldn’t understand that the fascists were not rational agents.
olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social
that said: I think the "it's not fascism unless they're good at it" brand of analysis probably isn't the move

We support campaigns for member democracy.
We are supporting campaigns for member democracy.
- Trans Liberation Group We know the average person in Your Party stands in solidarity with us in the fight for trans liberation. They are as repulsed as we are by comments made by MPs, such as Adnan Hussain, and other less prominent individuals jockeying for position in the party.
Founding Statement:
Through member democracy, we have a safeguard against individuals using positions of influence to embed transphobia in the party’s policy programme and create a hostile environment for trans party members.
- Trans Liberation Group Founding Statement:
A democratic, member-led foundation can make trans liberation an integral part of the party programme, and use collective might to overthrow any self appointed party kings who believe their personal bigotry should undermine both our rights, and the principles of party democracy.
- Trans Liberation Group Founding Statement:
By campaigning for a democratic party with a member led founding conference, there is an opening for trans people to make a significant intervention in what could become the largest political party in Europe. We do not need to beg for patronage from an MP for a seat at the table, we can organise and claim our own place as members.

That is why we are urging you, whether trans or cis, to join our struggle - Link in Bio.

We are the Trans Liberation Group and we are fighting for a foundation of trans liberation in Your Party, in its current and future iterations.
Founding Statement:
The situation for trans people in Britain is critical. We face a barrage of billionaire bankrolled abuse in the media. We endure decades long waiting lists to access limited healthcare, with dehumanisation and pathologisation built in to the system.

In the job market, we are met with discrimination, lack of opportunity and stagnating pay. We are excluded from housing, healthcare, employment, leisure - now even our use of bathrooms is policed.
 - Trans Liberation Group Something must change.
- Trans Liberation Group Founding Statement:
For trans people, today’s politics is exhausting. The major political parties have used and discarded us time and time again. Too often, exclusionary figures are embedded in leadership capacities, and even in progressive parties, those on the fringes can spew hatred unchallenged.

We say no more. This cannot happen in Your Party. The liberation of all marginalised people can only be achieved through their active and equal participation in class struggle; there can only be a precarious freedom for some under current conditions.
- Trans Liberation Group ounding Statement:
We are the Trans Liberation Group and we are fighting to ensure Your Party, in its current and future iterations, explicitly advocates for trans liberation, and encourages the political participation of trans people.

We know there are prominent figures who have been platformed under the banner of Your Party who hold regressive, misinformed and dangerous views on trans people. We are here to show them that this is our party, and we will fight tooth and nail to prevent this oppressive
politics from taking root.
