As we've always done, we want what we build to be a reflection of our community.

You would be helping to co-create the next big step in Blacksky's vision.

If you can spare some time this weekend to share your thoughts and feedback of our preliminary designs we would greatly appreciate it.

Pretty much every article about the Putin-Kushner-Witkoff summit in Moscow yesterday fails to mention that Kushner is simultaneously accepting tens of millions in annual payments from the Saudis and other foreign governments.

Seems like a key detail!

Proposed fist question for Senate/House Armed Services Committee:

Mr. Secretary, do you hereby testify—under penalty of perjury—that all your public statements about your involvement in the Sept. 2 strike are true?

We provided you a copy of all your statements before this hearing.
Hegseth: "I watched that first strike live. As you can image at the Dept of War, we've got a lot of things to do. So I didn't stick around for the hour to 2 hours, whatever, where all the sensitive sight exploitation digitally occurs. I moved on to my next meeting. A couple hours later I learned..."

Around this time in 1808, I was furiously composing a choral fantasy for piano and orchestra. This meant I was leaving certain other composer duties unattended. There were 20 days to go until the concert in which I'd premiere both my 5th and 6th symphonies (and the choral fantasy).

As the kind of classical composer who writes prison rescue operas, I can't support PJP enough.
PJP is a nonprofit. That means every story we publish and every writer we train is made possible because people like you choose to support this work. We rely on our community to keep this platform free and accessible to anyone behind the walls who wants to learn, write and be heard.

A concerto so nice, I wrote it twice. I won't say it was my most popular work, but it was popular enough that a publisher asked me to arrange the whole thing for piano and orchestra.
YIL the Beethoven violin concerto was disliked at its 1806 premier, then unpopular until Mendelssohn conducted it in 1844 with a 12-year-old Joachim as the soloist. Seems impossible, but true.

Stumbled over this superb Hilary Hahn/Franklin Radio Symphony recording. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb0B...

In my Romanticism class today a student called back to an earlier meeting where we put a “Beethoven counter” on the board and suggested that we all should keep a “Beethoven counter” for the rest of our lives 😆

That damn dog! To be fair, the 4th is one of my more overlooked symphonies.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but Beethoven 4 (the film) is beating out Beethoven 4 (the score) on Google search.

kinda seems like what happened is that Bradley correctly understood that he was being ordered to commit war crimes but did not anticipate that anyone would later distinguish between the types of war crimes he was willing to commit
But it does worry me a little bit to see military officials angry about Bradley being thrown under the bus without a concurrent acknowledgement that he did in fact commit an obvious war crime.

still hoping to raise the remaining $370 for caregiving!
Because of the ice raids, I haven’t been able to find a caregiver through medicaid since June. For three days a week I have to hire one from a company, and it cost $39.50 an hour. I owe $898 from my last bill and I’m struggling. If youd like to donate I would appreciate it ❤️

I've been the subject of many ho-hum biopic efforts and I think the best ones are those that focus on a specific era of my life rather than try to fit my whole biography in there. The best on-screen representation of my character I've seen is in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
One of my crackpot theories is that music biopics work best with moderately famous musicians.

e.g., I'd way rather watch a biopic of Bob Seger than Bob Dylan.

Want to thank all newsroom editors who took notice of the online outcry from Hong Kongers and adjusted their editorial approach. Of course we know wood burns. But there were other fire hazards to consider, along with the ecosystem of institutional negligence and corruption.
The Hong Kong fires is a political story, not a bamboo tragedy. It is about what happens when institutions are no longer accountable because of the erosion of the rule of law. When a government focuses on controlling the people, not serving them. When civil society is crushed.
