with the flood of quotes like this of Trump admin and Trump himself the one thing I think about is that modernity in politics is over and we’re in “here be dragons” territory historically speaking.

btw I know exactly what she is talking about here. I worked in one of these corporations for 3 years and I could not put it quite right in words why it was so mentally taxing and difficult. she nails it here. they do actually want you to integrate fully, not just during the official work hours.
“I’ve never believed in the term work-life balance,” says Morris … “I call it work-life integration”

that phrase sent chills down my spine. imagine your life integrated into a giant corporate machine.

finished working 13 days in a dow with zero days off, that was surprisingly fine! especially given the fact I had to travel to Kyoto/Osaka and back twice. and until the beginning of December I will only have 4-5 days off haha

ended my half-drunken lonely evening by listening to NOM’s last album Svoloch, then shifting to Prohor & Puzo and then to Korabl. nostalgic does not even begin to describe. but anyway, good that we have this I guess.

I had to start unfollowing and blocking people on freaking linkedin because they were doing the “show respect for the dead” shit about charlie kirk. I don’t even live in the US and neither do the people I am blocking. wtf.

finishing the wonderful book on landscape in western art by malcolm andrews and one thing I’ve just stumbled upon when thinking about it: we need to be very careful in our feelings and emotions about the truly magnificient and sublime, delibirate in our attempts not to be consumed by it

BREAKING: ICE is sending Russian dissidents back to Russia. When the dissidents arrived in Russia, the Russian authorities were given documents relating to their asylum applications in the US which under US law are confidential. This seems to be part of a secret agreement between Trump and Putin.

Dozens of Russian dissidents have been expelled from the US and forcibly returned to Russia with the co-operation of immigration authorities

just saw some people I know (real people and not bots) discuss how they were using chatgpt-like bots as museum guides because they didn’t want to read lots of text explaining the art. instantly wanted to vomit. still feel sick and sad for art and humanity.
