Ah yes...sadly, I somehow keep sleeping through the rains we're sporadically having in my area. Lends itself to good sleep, but frustrating when you'd rather be awake to enjoy it.

The most recent album I bought that I can listen all the way through is Lord Huron's "Strange Tales". It's more of zombie folk western than a rock opera, though.

I feel like we definitely lost something culturally when concept albums essentially vanished.

Maybe this is the writing equivalent of Monday Morning Quarterbacking (ew, I made a sports reference; I feel dirty), but I really feel like there are plenty of better ways to handle that scenario; indulging in this trope without examining and analyzing its import/impact it is just lazy storytelling.

I think I've seen interviews with actors from some fighting and boxing movies where they flat out *had* to genuinely hit people, especially back before more nuanced special effects, to get the slow motion shots because they just didn't look natural unless you actually took the impact.

Abruptly and irrationally angry that we as humans have a history of anthropomorphizing animals, putting them in jobs and uniforms that *we* ourselves hate doing.

Is it not bad enough that we have to suffer, that we must drag animals in to share in our misery.

I kinda feel as though the people who are mad at tv tropes are the kind of people who don't actually like to think about what they're reading, and while that's their prerogative, they also somehow get mad when other people *do* like to think about what they're reading.

Humanity gives me a headache.
