I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.
End HIV stigma.

STATEMENT BY SOPHIA BROOKS FOLLOWING THE CONVICTION OF GRAHAM LINEHAN London: Tuesday, November 25, 2025 TODAY, justice has finally been served, and Graham Linehan is a convicted criminal having been found guilty by the District Judge at Westminster Magistrates' Court. I would like to thank the Court, the Metropolitan Police, and the Crown Prosecution Service for their part in helping to hold an abusive man to account. Linehan is not a "national treasure" but a plainly bigoted, bad tempered thug, and a criminal. All those who supported Linehan from senior politicians, journalists, and members of civic society, should hold their heads in shame. Abusing a teenager who, at the time of Linehan's offences was a child, should never be justified. Some people are just different, get over it. I now want to be left alone to get on with my life. Please respect my privacy.
